Kay LaMarr Martin



Kay LaMarr Martin, 82, passed away September 14, 2009 at home with his family in Willard, Utah. He was born May 7, 1927 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hugh Leo and Gladys Rose Hunsaker Martin. He was raised in Swan Valley, Idaho and Salt Lake City. He married the love of his life, Shirlene Sears, in 1948 in Salt Lake City; they were later sealed together for time and eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple. They lived together in Salt Lake City and Willard, Utah. After her death, he married Ligaya Mon-tehermoso in 2003 in Willard, Utah. He served his country during World War II in the South Pacific with the Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines. As a past member of the Columbus Ward, he held the office of second counselor in the bishopric and scout master. He also participated in many civic functions. He established and ran M & S building with his son Brian. He made many close friends with his customers over the years. He was very family oriented and always had a joke to tell. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister, his wife, Shirlene Sears Martin, daughter, Ann Marie Martin Heward, stepson, Manuel Montehermoso. He is survived by his wife Ligaya, four sisters, and his children: Kay Larry (Joy) Martin, Brian Sears (Lonne) Martin, Janet Martin (James) Labrum, Michele Martin; step children Ramon Montehermoso, Ronald Montehermoso and Andrea M. Bran-scomb, 29 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren and many other generations of Martins. The family would like to thank the friends and Inspiration Hospice that
helped care for Kay.
