I finished my capstone, preceptorship or clinicals for this semester. I had 96 hours at Orem ER. I was excited but really didn't want to do an ER. It turned out to be AWESOME! The nurse I was assigned to was great about just letting me take care of the patients. I could totally take care of patients myself, mostly. This ER very little but I was a great place to learn.
some of the things I saw in the time I was there:
Hyperkalemia ( high potassium, bad for your heart),
Blood sugar over 900 (normal 70-100, bad for everything),
Broken bones,
Croup,
Lacerations (some cool, some not so cool),
Rhabdomylysis (breakdown of muscles, bad for the muscles),
MVAs
Miscarriages (very sad, but good learning experience),
P.S. It has the same Doctors that staff the other IHC ERs and the wait is about 5 minutes.

yay! I'm so glad you enjoyed your capstone. And yay that you're done!! thats super exciting!
So you were at Orem Community? I like that ER, it is small and yes we have been there a few times! And that hospital is just great overall, I had my last two babies there and loved it!
